Inside NestEd

From the first lesson to the finished work.

Here’s what’s taking shape in NestEd today. We’re still developing the app, so features and designs may change before release.

01 / MY NEST

Start with your day

See today’s lessons, upcoming activities, subjects, and reading progress. Choose which cards appear and arrange them in the order that works for you.

02 / PLANNER

Make room for real life

Plan lessons by student and subject, add family activities, and set repeating schedules. Move one lesson or a whole series, then record completion and notes as you go.

03 / STUDENTS & SUBJECTS

A place for each learner

Keep student profiles, subjects, and academic years organized. Give subjects their own names, colors, and details, with each student’s plans and progress kept together.

04 / GRADEBOOK

Keep grades close to the work

Record scores for assignments, quizzes, and projects, or link a grade to a planned lesson. See what still needs grading and review point totals by student, subject, and school year.

05 / SMART CAPTURE

A photo with a place to belong

Use Add Evidence to photograph schoolwork or choose an existing photo. Text recognition on your device suggests related subjects, lessons, and activities. You review the links before saving.

06 / PORTFOLIO

Keep the work behind the progress

Collect work samples, photos, attachments, and notes by student, subject, and school year. Connect portfolio entries to lessons and reading records so the context stays with the work.

07 / STATE REQUIREMENTS

Find your starting points

Browse state homeschool guides covering dates, records, and learning requirements. Each guide includes a review date and official source links to help you check what applies to your family.

08 / READING LOG

Keep reading in the picture

Follow each student’s reading from planned to in progress to finished. Add a book report or supporting attachment and choose which reading records to include in their portfolio.

A few things to know

Starting with the essentials.

When can I download NestEd?

NestEd is in development for iOS, iPadOS, and Android. We’ll add download links here when it’s available. We haven’t announced a release date or pricing yet.

Who is NestEd for?

Parents and caregivers who want a practical place to plan homeschool lessons, track progress, and keep learning records. You choose the subjects, schedule, and work that fit your family.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

In the current development version, core planning and record keeping work offline without an app account. Opening official state sources and other external links requires internet access.
